BIO

I was born in Miami FL to Cuban parents and ive been painting since I was a very young child, I have painted all through school and college where I was able to refine my skills as an artist. I think its important to know a little about an artist before you view their work. I have been greedy with my work and very reluctant to show for a long time. My artwork is contemporary and surrealist in color usage.

The form in which I paint anything is complicated or simple depending how you look at it. I get a thought of an image I sketch it and keep the sketch until its time to paint it, i have sketches that are 10 years old I havent touched again because im a firm believer in time and fate. I don't paint something until I feel its the right time to do so and I dont believe in making tons of sketches or copies of the same painting therefore once I have sketched the final product onto the canvas I rip the original sketch into tiny little pieces and throw it away it is part of my process.

I dont believe in repeating myself much so im not that type of artist to stick to one style of painting and continue doing the same thing over and over again like Britto who i consider to be pure pop fluff. It is not in my nature to do so, although one image can inspire me to create something similar in the future. As I stated earlier I was very reluctant to show my work because it hurts me to sell my paintings they are a part of me. Even my best friend knew me for almost 5 years before I gave her one of my works of art. They are very dear to me, I tried once to name the paintings anything that would pop into my head and I found it to be a disaster it didnt satisfy me but giving them proper names like Mark, Becky and Tom the names of people for some reason has satisfied me, it feels more natural it gives you a better experience of the work without letting the name cloud your vision. Art is not a business of money, it is a business of art!!!
